Office of Arpoky: Director of Lulz
I just opened up the Steam Store, and a game called Galactic Civilizations II: Ultimate Edition showed up on the front page. Curiosity made me click to see what it was. Turns out it’s a single-player real-time strategy game. I wasn’t too interested after looking at the screenshots, but this one caught my eye. The producers used a ship from the Star Trek Franchise, theU.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656.
The lack of originality with game creation has me concerned. When a company has been making video games for years, and decides to throw in a few hints and Easter Eggs from other games from the past—Like what Bungie did with the “7” references as well as reusing symbols and concepts from Marathon—for shits and giggles, that’s perfectly fine with me, but when a company makes a game and then decides to use a concept from a totally unrelated franchise, that’s were shit pisses me off.
When you make a game, why can’t you make your own content as well? Are you so uncreative that you are unable to make your own models? You made your own plot, you should also make your own graphics.
So yeah, here is the screenshot from the game:
